Well – I focus on form- Certainly I could use higher weights, but I prefer the pumping sensation of more repetitions. Remember , the weights I am using are not light- they are what I refer to as manageable. That means using weight with a high degree of control. I can use higher weights than what are in the video- however, like I to use weights that give me a good pump, as compared to just pushing heavy weight.
Peace, Vic

Hey Vic. You have a great build overall. But I have noticed you do alot of reps with lighter weight more so than few reps with heavy weight. Is this for demonstration purposes or is this really the correct way to workout? It just seems that a big guy like you must lift alot of weight. Great video. And thanks again.

I train a 43 yr Haitian women who does the whole rack on leg extensions.Last set 250lbs she gets 14 reps.This is after squats and drop sets on leg presses.I can’t get her to compete,or even get a photo of her,she married and the husband doesn’t know that I train her.
I’ve never seen anyone muscle up so fast since I worked out with Jimmy Quinn back in the 70’s.
I love your site,I use your tips……Grove

hey Vic do you do anything for calves? I bike a lot and my quads are massive but for some reason my calves don’t grow proportionally. I’ve heard its genetics but I was wondering what you think? They aren’t as small as triathlon runners but not as developed as my quads.
ps: your principles work =)

My opinion is that the universe has equipped us with a balancing mechanism. Although you can improve, all body parts independent of one another, you will never reach your full potential of development unless all muscles are participating. Vic

yes they can grow fom the upper part eventhough they dont workout their legs

Vic, do you do any squats at all>
January 19th, 2011 on 7:25 pm
hey man i have a question.
Im underweight and what most people call, a hardgainer. So i need some mass in my legs quickly.
Should i do more reps with low weight or less reps with high weight? And how many times should i repeat each excercise? And should i do it at the pace you are doing or should i do it faster?

@EternalElfe0
Live em – but so many injuries- it doesn’t seem like an exercise that my peeps will do for the rest of their lives- I am for it- but I have a big responsibility here. A lot of people will just say do it this way- I have to protect and teach- I am for it but have yet to make a video for squats. I do show them in my band workout that is on my site . Peace, Vic

@skipper375
You need some strength training of course, but true you should be doing some more explosive movements that help vertical etc… I would recommend a bit of a faster pace for athlete’s explosiveness. Much different than the way I would want to dig in to bodybuilder’s muscle. You are correct, more speed for performance athletes. Vic

@nymjifan12
Definitely you should be incorporating a power move like a lunge- or something that combines a movement you would normally make on the field but with added resistance.
Peace, Vic

Hey Vic, great video. I’ve been looking to break up my routine a little bit instead of trying to work different kinds of muscle groups all in one day, for instance I had been doing biceps, triceps and leg in one day. I find it a bit too much and this video whilst it has not given me exercises I wasn’t doing before, has educated me to more of a degree than I was before so thank you for that mate.
January 19th, 2011 on 9:36 pm
cool video mate. but 4-5 reps each exercice isnt it way to much? i mean there is no growing i think
January 19th, 2011 on 10:03 pm
Friend- I say this with the utmost respect. The reason they don’t look the way you want is because you hate them. You have decided to like doing certain body parts over others. What have your arms done for you that your legs haven’t? Yours is a complete body. When an architect builds a building he shouldn’t care less for the foundation and spend less time on it than the roof. Don’t stop doing upper body-start doing legs. Peace, Vic

@VitalSignWWWWWWWWWWW
Squats are great- however- again, I am am looking help people , but keep them safe- So many folks have back injuries and by doing a video it is a de facto endorsement for the exercise. My goal is to help people get in shape but safely. Vic

@mcorpus01
Good stuff- friend- Lot of weight- I think it’s great- I tell me people to use weights that they can manage- whatever that weight is – but, the name of the game is to challenge yourself- and be able to manage heavier weight with excellent form. Vic
January 19th, 2011 on 11:39 pm
hey Vic i want to ask you something
is this the right way to work my legs if i want explosiveness because i m a basketball player or i ll have to do the exercises with more speed?
January 20th, 2011 on 12:25 am
vic i just bought your dvd it should be here monday. i am excited about it. i am not new to bodybuilding . i have been working out for 2 and half year. i have a good built already. but i want muscle like you. you have ridiculous muscles. my question is do you do everything once a week? and does that video includes your personal routine?
January 20th, 2011 on 12:52 am
Hey vic i appreciate this vid alot. I’ve always had feet problems and i am unable to run because of it, but leg workouts do not seem to bother them. I liked how you mentioned that people cannot progress if there legs are not worked out either.. i have not been doing this. I have a very important question about that. My upper body is very toned and defined but i have these piss ant legs. I hate them, and starting tomorrow im going into legs. Should i take upper body out of my routine for awhile?
